BYD to Build EV Manufacturing Plant in Thailand by 2024

WHA Group, the Thai industrial estate developer, have stated on September 6th 2022 that it and China’s BYD are set to announce plans for an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing facility in Thailand.

The two companies will hold a joint news conference on plans for an EV facility in an industrial estate in Rayong on Thursday, September 8th, 2022.

BYD is expected to start selling its vehicles to the Thai market towards the end of this year. Initially, five models were offered a test drive to the Thai automotive journalists. At this stage, it is not known whether all five models will be released to the public at the same time.
