Ambitious National Strategy Aims for Complete Transition to Electric Mobility

The Department of Energy (DOE) in the Philippines has just revealed their Comprehensive Roadmap for the country’s EV automotive sector, stating that new sales of internal combustion engines (ICE) will be restricted by 2040.
The country is planning to require all new vehicles sold to be 100% electric by 2040, according to the upcoming Republic Act scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2023.
Likewise, the goals of other ASEAN countries to achieve a fully electric fleet are as follows:
- Singapore by 2030
- Thailand and Malaysia by 2035
- Vietnam by 2040
- Indonesia by 2050
